When it opened in 2016, the Guild Ale House, on Lancaster Road, helped break new ground for Preston. The city’s first truly dedicated real and craft ale micropub was an immediate hit – and has only gone from strength to strength.

Thanks to the efforts of owners Gary Quinn and Jane Briscoe, the Guild Ale House is one of Lancashire’s most respected pubs and has won the CAMRA Pub of the year in 2020/21 and Pub of the Season in 2024 as a recognition of its efforts in offering a warm and welcoming environment to customers from all over the country. With a massive collection of real ales, craft options, lagers, ciders and the city’s biggest Belgian beer offering, the Guild Ale House continues to be not only a founding member of Preston’s beer scene but also just a great place for a beer, live music and a friendly face.
